To value the imperfect, the process of creation until its finish. This is the wabi-sabi concept, a Japanese worldview practiced since the 15th century and based on the ideals of an aesthetic that exalts the irregular, the impermanent, and the incomplete.
Following this trend, widely used in several decoration items, Oxford presents the Ryo collection: unique pieces that value manual work and imperfect compositions. Native to the tropical regions of the Americas and called "papaya" in the Spanish language, papaya is a fruit marked by its sweet flavour and soft texture.
The strong orange colour of its pulp was the inspiration for the Ryo Papaya collection. The pieces are decorated through a manual process with dye pigments, which ensures that each plate and cup is unique and special. Produced in porcelain, the Ryo Papaya dinner set includes a flat plate, a deep plate, a dessert plate, and a cup and saucer. The Ryo shallow dish is the ideal size to serve the main meals and their complements, while the deep dish is normally used to serve more liquid food.
The pieces can be put in the microwave and in the dishwasher.
